Thunder is a sound and musical composition created from a field recording of a thunderstorm. The rapid event of thunder is captured and broken into parts that are then treated as musical elements. Through various musical compositional techniques and forms of audio manipulation the work shifts between an alien sonic experience to a familiar form of musical composition developed only by extracting material from within the primary recording. Similar to Nazaré, the work explores the intricate parts of a singular event in sound through a process like that of subtractive sculpture.
