Site-specific Drawings

Site-specific Drawings take the space of cultural magazines as a ground zero for sketching and developing ideas. I had been working for years primarily as a site-specific installation artist, and I was seeking a way to open the practice to more subjective means of working. I was also traveling a lot in 2016, so I could work in rented rooms very easily. The drawings respond in formal, cultural, personal and philosophical ways to the often mundane content on the pages. At times the content on the pages were ignored altogether, creating an interesting palimpsest of unintentional meanings – a form of collaboration of sorts.
