Rhythms of a Grey Day is an experiment that makes use of colours and textures from the view onto my back garden in Bremen. I’m not so interested in rendering forms of the flora that enchant me – I am looking for an analogous heterogeneity that corresponds to the sense of nature’s endlessly rich variety of forms, patterns, and rhythms. I’m also curious to use more ‘naturalistic’ colours in this work. I will miss the views onto the large Hof in our Bremen home.
